History
The Company's origins date back to 1927 when Dr. Ruhland Nachfolger GmbH was established in Germany as a manufacturer and supplier of surgical sutures. Already working with natural substances, the company branched into collagen and the CollaRx® technology was developed. Key events for the company include:
| 1985: | First launch of CollaRx® Gentamicin Surgical Implant in Europe under license to Schering Plough. |

Company acquired by Rolf and Bill Schmidt.
Divested suture business and company name changed to Innocoll.

Company's business model changed from Contract Manufacturer to Speciality Pharmaceutical.

IND filed for CollaRx Bupivacaine Surgical Implant; product commenced phase II clinical trials in the US.
IND filed for CollaRx Gentamicin Surgical Implant; product commenced phase III trials in the US.
IND filed for CollaRx Bupivacaine Topical for the treatment of painful chronic skin ulcers and burns. Commenced phase II clinical trials for the CollaRx Gentamicin Topical in the US. Divested European sales and marketing infrastructure to EUSA. Series A fund raising completed. |
| 2008: | Commenced two phase III clinical trials in the US for CollaRx Gentamicin Surgical Implant in cardiac and colorectal surgery. Commenced two phase II clinical trials in the US for CollaRx Bupivacaine Surgical Implant in hysterectomy and hernia repair surgeries. Commenced two additional phase II clinical trials in the US for CollaRx Gentamicin Topical for the Treatment of Moderately Infected Diabetic Foot Ulcers and also for the Prevention of Diabetic Foot Infections. |
