Zorpreva Surgical Hemostat is a sterile implantable hemostat comprising renatured collagen fibrils.
Description
When in contact with blood, thrombocytes aggregate at the collagen fibres and trigger a coagulation reaction. Hemostyptics based on collagen are significantly more effective than gelatinous sponges or cellulose. They are rapidly and completely absorbed by the body, while the collagen promotes granulation and epithelialisation. Zorpreva is derived from a natural source of purified type 1 collagen.
Indication
The approved indication is for local hemostasis of capillary, parenchymatous and seeping haemorrhages. Zorpreva Surgical Hemostat is available in sponge and powder formats.

Zopreva Surgical Hemostat is approved in Europe and New Zealand.
